Director of Business Development and Customer Care

Melissa Hirth began her journey with Champion Manufacturing over eight years ago, starting as a Product Support Manager in Customer Care. Her pursuit of excellence and remarkable performance led her to take on the role of Product Manager, where she demonstrated continued success. Subsequently, she assumed the position of Business Development Manager and spearheaded our partnership with Stryker Inc., our largest OEM partner.

In her current role, Melissa continues to nurture and expand our invaluable partnership with Stryker while also dedicating her time to help our Customer Care division reach new levels of success. Under Melissa’s leadership, Champion will retain our reputation for industry-leading performance and unmatched customer service.

Melissa holds a degree from Ball State University and is the mother of two children.

Kim Carpenter, Vice President of Human Resources

Kim Carpenter possesses more than 25 years of experience in human resources and has held prominent HR roles at Stryker, Johnson & Johnson, New York University, Ortho Clinical Diagnostics, and Sony Electronics. Kim specializes in leading cultural change, enhancing company performance through improved communications, and implementing best practices for employee engagement and performance management programs.

Prior to joining Champion, Kim owned her own consulting business, providing strategic HR services to healthcare manufacturing companies. 

With her wealth of experience and passion for fostering positive workplace cultures, Kim plays a pivotal role in driving Champion’s HR initiatives and supporting company growth.

Wendell Raddatz, Chief Commercial Officer

Wendell Raddatz is an executive in healthcare sales, marketing, and general management. Wendell’s successful career has spanned packaged goods, nutrition, and medical devices. He’s previously worked for Procter & Gamble, Johnson & Johnson, Danone, Medtronic, ZimmerBiomet, and Hologic. 

As the Chief Commercial Officer at Champion, Wendell leads global sales, marketing, and field service teams to build revenue and customer satisfaction with our medical seating solutions. 

Wendell is a graduate of Wesleyan University and resides in Florida with his wife, Anne.

Samantha (“Sam”) McDonnell, Chief Financial Officer

Chief Financial Officer

Sam McDonnell is Champion’s Chief Financial Officer, having served previously as our Senior Vice President of Finance. Prior to joining the Champion team, Sam was the VP of Finance and Human Resources at a medical device company, where she excelled in commercial planning, financial modeling, cash management, and operational oversight. 

Sam has successfully overseen accounting and finance operations for companies with up to $100 million in annual revenue and possesses the skills needed to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve margins. Her expertise and leadership will be invaluable as Champion continues to advance our financial goals and operational efficiency.

Sam resides in Rochester, New York, with her husband, two children, and three dogs. She frequently visits our Ocala plant as she oversees the financial aspects of our ERP integration, manages receivables and payables, and serves as the liaison between finance and sales.

Paul McCallister has 30 years of manufacturing experience across several roles, including his tenure as Director of Operations position at Envista Corporation and the Danaher Corporation in California. 

Paul specializes in company consolidations, merger and acquisitions, global supply chains, transportation and logistics, quality management systems, medical devices manufacturing, new product development, and project management.

Paul is currently the Chief Operating Officer for Champion, a position he previously held at Winco Manufacturing.

With over three decades of experience in operational leadership and strategic management in various healthcare sectors, Tom O’Neill brings a track record of success to Champion Manufacturing.

Prior to his role at Champion, Tom served as the President, CEO, and Board Member of Cognivue Incorporated, a private start-up company in the digital cognitive assessment space. Under Tom’s leadership, Cognivue developed a strategic framework, launched next-generation devices, secured key customer partnerships, and doubled revenue annually since 2018. Before Cognivue, Tom held executive positions at leading companies such as Johnson & Johnson, Hologic Incorporated, Ortho Clinical Diagnostics, Bausch + Lomb, and SynergEyes. 

As CEO of Champion, Tom leverages his vast experience in driving revenue growth, launching new products, building high-performance teams, and exceeding financial targets to take the company to new heights while offering excellent service to clients.

Tom holds a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration/marketing from The University of Akron. In addition to his professional achievements, he is actively involved in philanthropic endeavors.
